For those that weren’t able to our pop up sale of records from the collection of Phil Ranelin – legendary jazz musician and co-founder of Tribe Records – we’ve assembled a limited amount of 2 LP grab bags and we’re offering them for sale online, on a first come first serve basis. Each grab bag comes with two pieces of vinyl from Ranelin’s collection. All genres, but mostly jazz, with a bit of soul, funk and occasionally classical.
The records on offer here are not from Ranelin’s Tribe imprint, but are records that inspired him over the years. These are records that Ranelin learned from and admired, and many are well worn from repeated plays over a fifty year span. These are records that Ranelin carried with him on his travels, and are records he’s now offering to a new home, with a deep provenance and an undeniable influence. Every album comes with a note saying that it came from Ranelin’s collection.
We cannot guarantee condition and sales are final and not refundable. We can’t promise you that you’ll get exactly what you’re looking for, but you’ll get a part of record collecting history with real provenance. We offer media mail and priority shipping in the USA and priority shipping internationally.
