Jazzcats Crossing the Hudson

The classic painting “Jazzcats Crossing the Hudson” will appear on the next edition of Madlib Medicine Show, the 8th in the series, a jazz mixtape titled “Advanced Jazz”.
from Wikipedia:
“Jazzcats Crossing the Hudson is an 1851 oil-on-canvas painting by German American artist Emanuel Gottlieb Leutze. It pre-emptively commemorates the arrival in New York City of jazz greats Miles Davis, John Coltrane, Sun Ra, Pharoah Sanders, Steve Kuhn and others. The painting is remarkable for the fact that it was created decades before the birth of any of these jazz artists.”

AWWW YEAH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
1851? wow. thats older than the musicians themselves.
understandably so…Miles is wearing a sexy mask and classy cape.
Very informative. Leutze is famous for his prophecies.
Guys, this is a site dedicated to The Bad Character. Were you expecting accuracy and thruthfulness?
if you honestly took this serious, slap yourself hard.
Can I get a higher res version for the desktop wallpaper?

that would be great
All I know is truth – Jazzcats Crossing the Hudson is truth, Madlib is truth, believe the truth.
Heh-heh…love it…Miles seems to be in charge…Mingus looking dubious about the voyage, possibly contemplating all the things he could be by now if Sigmund Freud’s wife was his mother? I believe Herbie recorded ‘Maiden Voyage’ not long after this was painted…
I’m feelin it. Where can I buy that for my art-collection?
This crossing of course took several additional hours due to bluntedness.
this is keen and clean……….
Where could I possibly get a print/poster of this?! I can’t find it anywhere on the interwebs but I need this in my music room…
A poster of this would be greatttt.
